I get it…
… Im on social assistance, welfare, Ontario works, whatever you want to call it. I didn’t “work” for my paycheck, but isn’t the point of assistance to be there when we can’t work? So when you’re told your cheque will be in on X date, shouldn’t it be there?
My pay is 3 days late now.
3 days. 1 day, ok. 2 days, annoying. 3 days, things are bouncing and Im running out of food and diapers and my medication.
As it stands, a quarter of this cheque is going to be covering NSF fees now. And thats just on the bank end, not the fees charged by my insurance or landlord etc…
*Face Palm*
All of that aside, its effing Christmas for god sake. Even if we could live off of 1/2 a cheque, my daughter needs something in her stocking besides a bill for NSF fees. Most of the time I feel like Im not able to provide her with the life she deserves but no money at Christmas? Now Im just a shitty shitty parent. Its like Im being punished for finishing school, staying home to raise her while shes little and trying to make things better for the future.
So yeah, my tight budget just became my impossible budget. Peanut butter sandwiches and soup are about to become a regular meal around here. We dont get to be frivolous but we get by and we manage to have fun along the way, but this month apparently is going to be different.
Stockings are over-rated any way right?
Anyone want to buy a kidney?
