1. I am not a hooker…

    Never thought I would actually have to say that and not be joking.

    I’m not going to get into specifics but someone I once knew back when I was super poor and struggling (Not this time when I’m super poor, or the last time, ummm let’s just say a long time ago) once offered me money to sleep with him. Well more then once but that’s irrelevent.

    Now we all make the joke when were tight for cash or see those awesome shoes, “I know how to make some quick cash eyebrow wiggle”, but we don’t actually do it. This is what makes the joke funny. So back in the day when I was offered money for what I can only describe as my “unbeatable” services, I laughed, he laughed, I made an “In your dreams” joke, I laughed even harder.

    I’m not laughing any more.

    Not after I got home to a slightly disturbing email tonight. Seems this person I once knew, and probably would have slept with eventually for free (had he not already been seeing someone and taken me out for some decent meals and sweet talked a little. What?! He was smart and nice and hot! I was single! Were getting off topic) has been arrested. For what you ask… I’ll give you 2 guesses and the first one doesn’t count.

    So here’s where I get pissed. I’m not a hooker, I’m not even a whore who gives it to anyone who asks. I have a fuck load more respect for myself then that. Even back in my bar hopping, boy playing, free love days no one got in my pants just because they wanted to. I had/have standards and half a brain. For this Schmoe to think he could offer me money to get laid and think I would say yes makes my blood boil.

    I have done some things the sucked for money, none of them involved any actual sucking though. I have been starving and homeless and never stooped that low. I just can’t fathom someone thinking I would.

    I get that I’m a lot more open about sex and sexuality then a lot of people. Sex isn’t a taboo subject in my world. I also get that there are a lot of sex trade workers in the world working legally and illegally that defend their jobs and I defend their right to use their bodies however they see fit. To offer money to someone in exchange for sex knowing they arnt a prostitute is disgusting. Not to mention doing it at a time of desperation in their lives is sick. You are preying on another persons weakness to get to their most personal level.

    I could be all “My body is a temple” and blah blah blah but that’s not even the part that bothers me. I’ve used sex as a game (PSA moment kids, sex may be a game but STDs arnt, use a condom and get tested) but they playing field was level. Both parties were aware of what they were there for. To take someone at their lowest, dangle a carrot infront of them and say “In exchange for your self respect and dignity you can have this carrot. Essentially it’s costing you nothing.” is the lowest form of scum.

    So just incase you are still confused I want to make this perfectly clear:

    I AM NOT A PROSTITUTE

    (AKA I will not have sex with you in exchange for money or goods of any kind no matter what the situation.)
