1. No smoke breaks in parenting

Today was made of pure frustration.

Some days I can honestly say I hate motherhood. Days when my child displays what the term “terrible twos” really means. Days when people give me that look, as my child loses her mind on the floor of a public area. Days when my daughters feet cease to work and she demands to be carried or given an Oscar for her performance of “Hard done by child”.

I’ve been told numerous times to drop what were doing and just leave. Abandon the ship of errands if you will, and return to port. Told just to go back another time, she will learn. But there is no other time for a single mum because eventually your kid realizes you have to go back to where ever you walked out of. Despite the original intention, you still need groceries, or prescriptions, or any other supply requiring you to take your child in public.

Day 1 of the hell I can tolerate. Day 2 I can handle. Day 3 I have a headache and it just continues to spiral down and down until it’s almost at the point of resentment. And there arnt smoke breaks in parenting.

You don’t get to say “I’m really stressed out and I need some time off” because there is no one to take over your job as parent while you take vacation time.
